Let Pia Pierre and Carla Copini guide you into this unique world, charged with history, where Italy meets the Far East in Provence. A place of sanctuary, far from the madding crowd, yet close to all amenities; it is the ideal location to combine culture and history.
The charm of the Chateau Beaupré Deleuze is not, however, typically Provencal. It is more redolent of Italy, a French Tuscany located between Uzès and Avignon. Certainly, Italy has left its mark, as the founders of the château were in the service of the Popes of Avignon.
The château has also something of Janus, the deity with two faces. The north facade is severe in style, leaning against a massive square tower straight out of the Middle Ages, and forming a fine contrast with the smiling south side with its elegant loggia that invites you to enter the inner courtyard, surrounded by a colonnade that bears all the lustre of time.
The colonnade has a history - the pillars are relics from neighbouring Roman villas salvaged by Hercule Deleuze in the XVIII century, when he decided to extend and open out the Château Beaupré. The square inner courtyard at ground level is adorned by square pillars, and on the first floor the pillars are round, creating the most beautiful shadow play in the setting sun.
The dual-flight staircase leads to the first floor in theatrical style. On the ground floor, the vaulted salon, now a communal sitting room, an enormous fireplace has pride of place, providing glowing warmth as soon as the colder days arrive.
